The book does not teach "parallel programming" and doesn't discuss other parallel programming tools which means that the nuts and bolts of MPI are all the more clearly presented and access|About the Author|William Gropp is Associate Division Director and Senior Computer Scientist, MCS Division, at Argonne National Laboratory.

Since its release in summer 1994, the Message Passing Interface (MPI) specification has become a standard for message-passing libraries for parallel computations.
